Captain Kate McCue, America’s first female cruise ship captain, takes the helm of Celebrity Beyond℠, the third ship in our groundbreaking Edge® Series. Don’t sleep on Celebrity’s oldest ship, which includes a handful of fan-favorite amenities and spaces such as The Retreat, the Solarium, the Rooftop Terrace, and the Grand Foyer. Last refurbished in 2019, Millennium now features a more contemporary design aesthetic, similar to what you’d find on the newer ships. This 22-year-old Celebrity ship offers a more refined, subdued atmosphere compared to the line’s newer ships, which boast flashier features like the Magic Carpet.
"Celebrity Revolution" fleetwide refurbishments
With every detail elevated beyond expectations, you will never want to holiday any other way. An industry pioneer for 35 years, each Celebrity holiday offers experiences you won’t find anywhere else aboard ships which continue to shatter industry expectations with the highly anticipated Celebrity Xcel arriving Fall 2025. It’s also worth noting that these suite guests also enjoy access to the SEA Thermal Suite and a dedicated spa concierge. Don’t miss the adults-only Solarium, the Rooftop Garden, the aforementioned Eden, or the Magic Carpet, which offers the best views at sea.
Set Sail on the Best Cruise Ships with Celebrity Cruises
The fifth, final, and largest Solstice-class cruise ship, Celebrity Reflection, will impress even the pickiest of travelers with its onboard activities, amenities, and spaces, including a total of 22 bars, restaurants, and lounges. In addition to The Retreat (reserved exclusively for suite guests) and The Solarium (adults-only), Reflection — along with all Solstice-class ships — boasts the Lawn Club. The adults-only Persian Garden area at the spa is a favorite amongst wellness enthusiasts. Reduced Flights to Europe applies to new individual bookings made from 06 December 2023 to 08 April 2024 (the “Offer Period”) for selected Celebrity Cruises Europe 2024 sailings departing 02 January 2024 to 21 December 2024. Reduced Flights to Europe provides reduced airfare (including taxes and fees) for guests purchasing selected return flights departing from London Gatwick, Manchester & Dublin Airports for applicable bookings made during the offer period. Reduced airfares on selected flights are priced from £1 per person from the UK (LGW & MAN) or €1 per person from Ireland (DUB).
Entertainment and activities
Like the Edge Class ships, they also feature indoor, adult-only pool areas that, notably, are topped with glass panels embedded with solar panels that contribute to the ship's power grid. Just a tad smaller than the Edge Class ships, the Solstice Class vessels are perhaps best known for the innovative, half-acre Lawn Club areas on their top decks, which feature real grass. When this class of ship first started rolling out in 2008, they were heralded for their game-changing design and features, including a few things that still are unique in the cruise world. The two newest vessels also include a greatly expanded Sunset Bar at the back of the vessel with a Morocco-inspired design imagined by celebrity interior designer Nate Berkus and a new restaurant created by star chef Daniel Boulud. Among other unusual features, the Edge Class ships have top deck plant-filled "playscapes" called the Rooftop Garden with an outdoor eatery called the Rooftop Garden Grill.
Who sails Celebrity Cruises?
Celebrity ships are loaded with entertainment and activities that range from Broadway-style theater shows and live music to glassmaking classes. Top decks of Celebrity ships have lots of pools, lounge areas and — on some ships — park-like retreats with real grass. Unlike some big-ship lines, Celebrity isn't topping its vessels with waterslides, go-kart tracks, ropes courses and other family-focused attractions. The Edge Class ships are, by far, the line's most suite-heavy ships, with a whopping 190 suites of different types on each vessel. The Edge Class ships also offer hundreds of special spa-themed AquaClass cabins and Concierge Class cabins that come with special amenities. However, you'll find plenty of suites and special AquaClass and Concierge Class cabins on Celebrity's other ships, too.
What is the Newest Celebrity Cruises Ship?
By this onboard culinary program, fans and foodies have the opportunity to travel with a lineup of celebrity chefs on food-themed "Top Chef Signature Sailing" each year. Celebrity also offers an interactive "Quickfire Challenges" and "Top Chef"-inspired menu evenings fleetwide on cruises 5-nights or longer (excluding Galapagos Islands). The second Edge-class ship, Celebrity Apex, made its grand debut in 2020. It boasts an abundance of stylish onboard spaces, including the Rooftop Garden and the adults-only Solarium. Access to the exclusive Retreat area is reason alone to book one of the contemporary suites.
Celebrity Solstice
Paul Brady is the news director at Travel + Leisure and the brand's expert on all things cruise.

This brings 179 more suites and staterooms to the ship, a bigger (40%) sundeck at The Retreat and the Sunset Bar is 180% larger. Just two of the Celebrity’s ships were built and owned by other cruise lines before being acquired by Celebrity Cruises. After that, Celebrity created the Solstice-class, which consisted of five ships. These proved extremely popular and Celebrity actually went back and ‘Solsticized’ the rest of their fleet to bring the other ships up to the same passenger experience.
Celebrity Solstice® Series
Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Solstice operate in Asia, offering the 12-night "Best of Japan" itinerary and the 12-night "Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand" itinerary, respectively. Celebrity's "mini-season" in Iceland groups four 7-night circumnavigating voyages on Celebrity Silhouette in July and August 2025. Celebrity Equinox joins Mediterranean routes with 9- and 10-night itineraries in the Italian Riviera, Greek Islands, France and Iberia (Spain and Portugal).

But to Celebrity, smart casual doesn't mean anything fancier than pants or jeans with a short-sleeve sport shirt for men, and a skirt, pants or jeans with a casual top for women. You must be 21 to consume alcohol on Celebrity sailings from North American ports. The drinking age on sailings from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is 18. Dubbed Camp at Sea, the program brings free, supervised activities daily for children ages 3-12 in dedicated spaces on board Celebrity vessels.
You can end up paying considerably more for a cabin during peak summer months or over the winter holidays. The number of Captain's Club points you earn for cruises will vary depending on both the length of the sailings and the type of cabin you book. The currency used on all Celebrity ships is U.S. dollars, no matter where they are in the world. All vessels operate on a "cashless system," with any onboard purchases you make posting automatically to your onboard account.
The Third ship in our revolutionary Edge® Series takes our innovative outward-facing design further than ever, creating an even closer connection between you, the sea, and every exciting place on the horizon. Simone Biles, 19-time World Champion and seven-time Olympic Medalist has added another very special title to her decorated career – godmother for Celebrity Beyond℠. In her role as Godmother, Biles named Celebrity Beyond – the gold standard ship and most luxurious vessel in the Celebrity fleet – at the official ceremony in Fort Lauderdale on November 4, 2022. This sophisticated ship — the first in Celebrity’s Edge class — changed the game following its 2018 debut.
